About Dr. Runyon
Dr. Runyon grew up between the Boston suburbs and the Northshore, attending high school in Dedham before going on to study and row competitively at Stanford and Cambridge Universities. Prior to his medical training at Cornell, he served a two-year mission in France where he developed a desire to serve others. As the son of an orthopaedic surgeon, he saw from an early age the improvement in quality of life he could offer patients through the field of orthopaedics. In residency at Washington University in St. Louis he was the recipient of awards for teaching and patient care as voted on by medical students and nursing staff. He subsequently focused his training on surgical treatment of hip and knee arthritis with a fellowship at MGH and has published and presented research on outcomes following joint replacement. He considers it an honor to help patients get rid of pain and back to the activities they love and is happy to be practicing back home.
