Shoulder & Elbow
The shoulder is a ball-and-socket joint that is the source of movement for your upper arm, while your elbow allows you to bend your lower arm. The joints work with tendons and muscles to allow a wide range of motion. Wherever you work, whatever you do, you are dependent on your elbows and shoulders to perform almost any task, from carrying groceries to throwing a ball.
Because the joints, tendons and muscles in the shoulder and elbow get used so frequently, disorders such as tendinitis, bursitis and arthritis are not uncommon. However, if you feel acute pain in your shoulder or elbow, you should seek treatment immediately.
